Reading
Stage 3 — from syllables to whole words, the article al-, the spellings that only show up at the end of a word, and a reading test made of words Uzbek borrowed.
You know the letters and the marks. Reading is putting them together fast enough that you stop seeing syllables and start seeing words.
- lesson 1الكَلِمَاتReading whole words
Syllable by syllable, then all at once.
- lesson 2أَلThe article al-
“The” — and the sun letters that swallow its l.
- lesson 3ة ى ءSpecial spellings
Tāʾ marbūṭa, alif maqṣūra, hamza's seats and lām-alif.
- lesson 4كَلِمَات أُوزْبَكِيَّةWords you already know
Kitob, qalam, maktab — read them in the script they came from.
The last lesson is the finish line: a page of words, no Latin, no sound — and you read them.
